A university city of the Minho, an industrial and commercial hub, and a safe place to live and work for a few weeks or a year. Here is what to expect.
In the heart of the green and fertile province of Minho, the district of Braga stretches from the sea to the inland, with a wooded landscape that rolls through gentle hills and valleys.
Braga is one of Portugal's main religious centres, known for its baroque churches, 18th-century houses and gardens. Around the historic centre, industry, commerce and the universities give the city a busy everyday life, with modern districts, cafés and restaurants.
About 3 km to the south-east stands the Sanctuary of Bom Jesus do Monte, famous for its 18th-century baroque staircase. Nearby rises Mount Sameiro. The whole district is known for its festivals and its traditional gastronomy.

Mild and rainy winters, warm summers. Bring a raincoat from October to April.
The centre is walkable. City buses reach the placements; BragaMob transport covers the daily journeys included in the programme.
Supermarkets, pharmacies and markets within walking distance of the hotels and houses.
A calm city. The orientation meeting covers the rules, the 24-hour line and who to call. Emergency number in Portugal: 112.
Practical cost-of-living information for participants (meals, bus tickets, SIM cards) is shared in the pre-departure pack, on request.
Every programme starts with an orientation meeting and a tour of Braga. Pedagogical visits at the weekend are optional and do not interrupt the placement. The route our final reports of recent mobilities document: Braga (Bom Jesus and Sameiro), Guimarães, Porto, Viana do Castelo, and Lisbon with Fátima. The visits help participants understand the country where they are working: its economy, its institutions and its heritage.
Cultural integration activities are optional: your quote lists each service you choose.

Each destination has a pedagogical objective and the competences it links to. The first six are the visits our final reports of recent mobilities document; the others can be included depending on the duration of the mobility.
